We collect personal information from our provision of the Services or operation of our business, including:

  • Information you provide us directly in connection with the Services, including information you provide us by phone, email, text, in-person, through our Website (including by filling in forms on our Website, or other forms or applications on third party websites and services, if those forms or applications link to this Privacy Policy).

  • Information we lawfully obtain from service providers, identity or screening providers, workforce or sourcing partners, business partners, and public sources.

Indirect Collection

We collect personal information from third parties when you use the Services, including:

  • Information we receive from our integration, data source, or technology partners.
  • Information we receive about you from business partners, staffing, business-process, workforce, sourcing, or other partners that recruit or administer Expert Contributors, and from other third-party services. Those partners may act independently for their upstream collection and must provide their own notices where required.

Automatic Collection

We use certain automatic data collection and instrumentation technologies to gather information about your device, browser, and interactions with our Services. These technologies help us understand how users, employees, or Expert Contributors engage with our Services and support our efforts to improve performance, security, and user experience. The types of information we may collect automatically include:

  • Information about your computer hardware and software when you visit our Websites, Platform, use our Services, or visit other sites or services that link to this Privacy Policy. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, internet service provider (ISP), and the files viewed on our websites (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), the files viewed on your operating system, access times and referring website addresses.
  • Information about your online activities over time and across third party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking).
  • Information collected in connection with analytics technologies, such as Google Analytics and other similar technologies, that permit us to learn more about how visitors use our online Services. For more information about how Google Analytics uses and processes data, please visit https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
  • Information stored through cookies, pixels, log files, web beacons, and similar technologies, including browser type, pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, links clicked, and other traffic and usage data. Where enabled and disclosed for the relevant Expert Contributor service, we may also collect interaction details such as device type, clicks, page navigation, time on page, and session-replay data to support security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and service improvement. We configure these tools to limit collection to information appropriate for the stated purpose.
  • Information that indicates your general location, including your IP address.

We may share information collected from automatic means with trusted third-parties to analyze and organize any collected data on our behalf and at our direction.

On our Websites, the initial cookie banner lets you Accept All, Reject All, or Customize My Choices. The persistent Cookie settings control lets you reopen these choices at any time. In the customization view, Strictly Necessary Cookies are Always On; you can separately enable or disable Functional, Performance, and Advertising Cookies and then select Save My Choices. Cookie Details opens a Tracking Details view that identifies cookies and tracking services by category, type, and vendor and, where available, provides retention information, descriptions, and vendor privacy-policy links. You may also use supported browser privacy signals or browser settings to block or delete stored cookies. Blocking or deleting cookies may limit some functionality.

Third Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Some content or applications related to the Services are served by third-parties, including content providers, service providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies, alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies, to collect information about you when you use our Services. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers send privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT). Our consent-management tool records supported GPC and DNT signal states. Where applicable law requires us to honor a browser-based opt-out preference signal, including a recognized GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of the covered sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising activity. You can use Cookie settings at any time to manage Functional, Performance, and Advertising Cookies directly.

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have the following rights (free of charge) under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) with respect to your Personal Information to the extent these laws are applicable to Snorkel AI:

Identity and screening providers may process source documents or biometric characteristics in their own workflows; Snorkel AI may receive or view a verification, screening result, or flag. Snorkel AI does not receive biometric templates used solely by a person’s device, such as a fingerprint used to unlock an Apple device.
  • Disclosure of Personal Information We Collect About You. You have the right to request we disclose to you free of charge the following information covering the 12 months preceding your request:
    • The categories of personal information we have collected about you;

  • Deletion. Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, you have the right to request that we:
    • Delete your personal information from our records; and
    • Direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records.
  • Please note that we may not delete your personal information if it is necessary to:
    • Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us;
    • Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity;

    • Precise geolocation
    • Racial and ethnic characteristics
    • Religious and philosophical beliefs

9. Additional U.S. Privacy Rights

If you reside in a U.S. state with an applicable comprehensive privacy law, you may have the following rights, subject to the scope, definitions, exceptions, and effective dates of that law:

  • Request confirmation that we are processing your personal information.
  • Request access to a copy of your personal information in a portable and readily-usable format.
  • Request that we edit or correct your personal information at any time.
  • Request that we delete your personal information, unless an exception applies. If we delete your personal information, we might not be able to provide you with the Services.
  • Request to opt-out of targeted advertising (where we engage in such activities, which is currently limited).
  • Request to opt out of profiling in furtherance of a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not currently use solely automated processing to make such decisions. We use analytics, fraud and security signals, and limited internal AI tools for operational purposes; an authorized person makes the final decision where a signal may affect eligibility, onboarding, deployment, employment, or payment, unless a different process is specifically disclosed and approved.
  • Request to opt out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where our processing falls within those definitions under applicable state law.
  • Request to limit or opt out of certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable. Depending on the jurisdiction and context, we rely on consent or another legally permitted basis and provide any required right to limit, withdraw consent, or opt out.
  • Be free from discrimination related to your exercise of any of your state privacy rights.
  • Appeal a decision on a privacy request where applicable state law provides an appeal right.

See the “Exercising Your Data Rights” section below for information on how to submit requests.

10. Additional Rights for Individuals Located in the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK

If you are located in the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, we process your personal information based on the following legal bases:

  • Contract or pre-contract steps, including account and service delivery, Expert Contributor relationships, and steps requested by applicants.
  • Legitimate interests, including business-to-business relationship management, service improvement, security, fraud prevention, internal administration, and proportionate analytics, subject to balancing and any required consent for device access.
  • Legal obligation, including tax, payroll, employment, regulatory, and compliance duties.
  • Consent, including for optional surveys, marketing, cookies, or other processing where consent is specifically requested and can be withdrawn.

Special-category or criminal-offence information is processed only where an applicable Article 9 or Article 10 condition and any required local-law authorization have been documented.

You have the following rights:

  • Access - request access to your personal information
  • Correction - request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Erasure - request deletion of your personal information
  • Portability - request to receive your personal information in a portable format or transfer it to another controller
  • Object - request to object to processing of your personal information
  • Restriction - request to restrict processing of your personal information
  • Consent withdrawal - withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You may object to or request restriction of processing. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal. Exercise these rights through https://privacy.snorkel.ai/. You may also complain to an applicable EEA, Swiss, or UK supervisory authority.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

We may transfer personal information to the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where transfer restrictions apply, we may rely on an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguard, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum or IDTA, and Swiss adaptations. Where legally valid and appropriate, we may instead rely on transfer-specific explicit consent after providing required information about the transfer and its risks. Such consent may be presented separately alongside an employee handbook or Expert Contributor onboarding materials; general acknowledgment of the handbook, onboarding materials, or this Privacy Policy does not by itself constitute transfer consent. We take additional steps required by applicable law. Submit a request through https://privacy.snorkel.ai/ for information about a relevant safeguard.

See the “Exercising Your Data Rights” section below for information on how to submit requests.

11. Additional Rights in Other Jurisdictions

If you are located in another jurisdiction with an applicable data protection law, including Brazil, Canada, China, India, or Japan, you may have additional rights, subject to that law's scope, definitions, exemptions, and effective dates. Depending on the jurisdiction, these rights may include:

  • Confirmation of whether we process your personal information and access to a copy of it.
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Deletion of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions.
  • Portability of personal information where provided by applicable law.
  • Objection to or restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent, or an applicable opt-out from certain processing.
  • Information about relevant sources, purposes, recipients, or third-party disclosures, where applicable.
  • A complaint to an applicable regulator and review or appeal of a request decision where provided by law.

To exercise an applicable right, submit a request through our Privacy Center at https://privacy.snorkel.ai/. We respond within the period and in the manner required by applicable law.

12. Exercising Your Data Rights

For rights that require verification, we may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority. If we cannot complete legally required verification, we may be unable to fulfill the request. We do not require identity verification for sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising opt-outs where applicable law prohibits it.

You may use an authorized agent to submit a privacy rights request on your behalf. If you do so, the authorized agent must present signed written authorization to act on your behalf, and you will also be required to independently verify your own identity directly with us and confirm that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request. This verification process is not necessary if your authorized agent provides documentation showing power of attorney to act on your behalf.

We respond within the period required by applicable law and may extend that period only where the law permits, after providing any required notice and explanation.

To exercise a privacy right, submit a request through our Privacy Center at https://privacy.snorkel.ai/

If you have an unresolved concern about our DPF compliance that we have not addressed, you may refer your complaint, free of charge, to your local EU data protection authority, the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), as applicable based on where your data was transferred from, and under certain conditions invoke binding arbitration for residual claims. Snorkel AI commits to cooperate and comply with the advice of these authorities — the EU data protection authorities (including through the DPA panel process), the FDPIC, and the UK ICO — with regard to personal data received from the European Union, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, respectively, and to take the steps necessary to remedy any issue arising under the applicable framework.

13. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure, including but not limited to the following:

  • Access to the Company’s IT systems is monitored in order to detect and prevent misuse.
  • All personal information is secured on cloud-based infrastructure in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure, using appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures.
  • All personal information in production environments is encrypted at rest.
  • The Company’s security measures are continuously tested, assessed, and reviewed to ensure ongoing confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of processing systems and services in connection with the processing, as well as the effectiveness of the technical and organizational measures for ensuring the security of the processing.

Notwithstanding the foregoing measures, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through the Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained in or on the Services.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of the Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

14. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose, including to provide the Services, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, employment, audit, and recordkeeping duties. The period depends on the record type, relationship, sensitivity, legal requirements, limitation periods, and whether a legal hold applies. We delete or de-identify information when the applicable period ends, subject to documented exceptions.

15. Children Under the Age of 18

The Services are not intended for individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect or process personal information from individuals under 18 through the Services. If we learn that we collected personal information from an individual under 18, we will delete it as required by law. If you believe we may have information from or about an individual under 18, submit a request through https://privacy.snorkel.ai/.

16. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on the Website and update the Privacy Policy’s effective date. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
